MCHD Hires EMS Veteran for Clinical Division Chief

CONROE, TX -- Montgomery County Hospital District is proud to formally announce Mark Price as its new Division Chief of the Clinical Department. Chief Price began with MCHD in late August and is working on completion of the New Hire Orientation process.

Chief Price is a 20-year veteran of emergency medical services. In 1999, he started his career as an EMT-Basic working for a rural 911 service in Robertson County, Texas. He came to MCHD from the Cy-Fair Fire Department, where he served as the Clinical Quality Coordinator/EMS Captain. He served in the leadership role since 2014 and worked with various divisions to develop high-performance clinical practices in pre-hospital medicine.

“Mark Price is a perfect fit for this important clinical role at MCHD,” said Dr. Robert Dickson, MCHD Medical Director. “We place our focus on research, innovation and evidence-based practices in pre-hospital medicine, and we were looking for someone who shares that vision.”

Chief Price is passionate about EMS. His interest in the professional began at the age of 15, when his father passed away, in part, due to substandard medical care in the pre-hospital setting.

“The treatment a patient receives while on an ambulance can greatly influence their outcome, for better or for worse,” Chief Price said. “My mindset is always to be ahead of the game, thinking critically and using the best possible methods available to paramedics today. Innovation in an EMS service is vital - to ensure we are taking the best possible care of the residents of Montgomery County.”

Chief Price has authored numerous articles revolving around leadership and development, along with 'Just Culture' practices and implementation. He obtained his Fellow with the American College of Paramedic Executives in December of 2019, while also serving as the Chair of the Quality Committee for the National EMS Management Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the National EMS Management Association, where he is the liaison for education and accreditation. He holds a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and is currently completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency Care Management/Health Administration through Western Carolina University in North Carolina.
