THE WOODLANDS, TX --

Boys Basketball

College Park 56, The Woodlands 40

The Cavaliers haven’t lost to the Highlanders in three years. The Cavaliers haven’t lost to anyone in over a month. With wins by double digits in all but one district game, this team has cruised through district 13-6A so far.

Saturday’s game was a competitive matchup in the first half. Good defense on both ends of the floor made each other work to find good looks. Both College Park and The Woodlands were able to hit some threes to keep the game close early on. At the half, College Park’s lead was only three.

The difference in this game was the third quarter performance by College Park. The Cavs locked the floor down defensively and the shooters got hot to outscore the Highlanders 21-9. CP rode that momentum through the fourth quarter on their way to the 16-point win.

Marvin Dock led the Cavaliers with 14 points, three assists, and two steals, followed by 13 points from Ty Buckmon. Kylan Williams led the Highlanders in scoring with 11 points.
