National Signing Day 2021 in The Woodlands area

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Each and every season, The Woodlands area provides fans with entertaining games in every sport. The talent level at the schools in the area never fails to impress, so it’s no surprise that many of these athletes go on to continue their careers at the next level. As usual, National Signing Day is a big deal around here as many kids sign their letters of intent and begin the next chapter of their academic and athletic careers.

Here are the athletes that will be taking their talents to the collegiate level:

College Park

The Cavaliers had 12 athletes sign this morning. From the Football team, Curt Evangelister (Air Force). Girls Soccer had three signees, Faith Autery (UT Dallas), Sara Engels (Mercer), Mia Summers (Southwestern). Softball was represented with three signees as well. Kaitlyn Corn (Trinity Valley), Mieyah Perez (Briar Cliff), and Emily Springer (Blinn). Baseball sent two to the next level, Carter Gorling (Colorado School of Mines), and Ty Porter (Dallas). For Track, it was Robyn Kowalski (Tulsa), and Swimming was represented by Brady Monson (Augusta).

Conroe

The Tigers had nine athletes take the first step to beginning their next chapter. Football had three players sign LOIs, Cameron Hilliard (Henderson State), Layne O’Dell (Navarro), and Tyler Trantham (Kilgore). Wrestling had two signees, Michal Buska (Tiffin), and Bryson Cole (Defiance). The Tigers also had signees from Cross Country, Eric Pineda (Incarnate Word), Boys Soccer, William Spellman (Northeast Texas), Softball, Myranda Lewis (Coffeyville), and Swimming, Troy Horn (Eastern Illinois).

Grand Oaks

Signing day was extra special for the Grizzlies as these six athletes are a part of the first senior class at the school. Representing Football was David Bush (Howard Payne), Micah Cooper (Trinity Valley), and Grant Nickel (Texas Tech). Baseball had Jace Farnsworth (Regis) and Antonio Sabala (Richland), and Girls Soccer was represented by Chloe Covarrubio (Oklahoma Wesleyan).

Oak Ridge

The War Eagles had signees from seven different sports. Baseball’s Jett Feltman (Fort Scott), Bowling’s Michela Morgan (Upper Iowa), and Boys Soccer had Lucas Hickey (Ohio Nothern). Football signed four players. Alton McCaskill (Houston), KC Ossai (Louisiana), Stacey Williams (Arkansas-Pine Bluff), and Nick Osborne (Aurora). Softball signed two players, Kaitlynn Martinez (Colorado Christian) and Erika Flynn (Fort Hays State). Girls Track was represented by Kendall Starika (Missouri), and Volleyball’s signee was Maddie Hall (Chowan University).

The Woodlands

The Highlanders had 43 across 14 sports sign this afternoon:

John Cooper School

The Dragons had five athletes sign this morning, with another three to have another ceremony at a later date. Girls Basketball was represented by Ajailah Ogiemwonyi (Garden City). Boys Cross Country had one signee, Will McDermott (Rice). Girls Diving was represented by Adelaide Herman (Williams). Boys Golf’s signee was Grant Carter (Mary Hardin-Baylor), and Boys Track had Jack O’Riordan (Lehigh).

At a later time, Football will be represented by Jake Peterson (Penn) and Ben DeLoit (Sprint Football, U.S. Military Academy) and Boys Tennis will have James McKenzie (Haverford)
