Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for April 1, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - We can confirm mass vaccinations continue in our county by appointment. All adult residents are now eligible for a vaccine. MCPHD has a limited number of appointments available for registration now for anyone 18 years of age and older. To sign up for first doses of the Moderna vaccine, go to mcphd-tx.org. This allocation of vaccines will be given on Monday, April 5th or Monday, April 12th at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Shenandoah. You will be able to choose an appointment time. Please only register one time per person.

Lone Star Family Health Center, individual hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies also have vaccines available to eligible populations. Please check their websites and Facebook pages for additional information. You can find a list of providers and additional information on the DSHS website here: https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/.../immunize/vaccine-hubs.aspx.

If you have questions regarding COVID-19, testing or vaccines, please call the Montgomery County COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916. It is available Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 4:30pm or Friday from 8:00 - 4:00pm.

Today, we can sadly confirm two additional deaths related to COVID-19.
• A man in his 50s, from Spring, died in the hospital. It is unknown if he had co-morbidities that may have contributed to his death.
• A man in his 70s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We can also confirm:
• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 128 to 49,605 since Wednesday’s (3/31) report. All 128 cases were tested since 3/18/2021.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 68 to 2,108 since Wednesday’s (3/31) report.
• 81 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 25,847 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County is 10%, up from 9%. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays. Source: UT Health, School of Public Health

In observance of the Good Friday holiday, the offices of MCPHD will be closed tomorrow. The next COVID-19 update will be Monday, April 5th.
