MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- With almost 800 animals in the shelter, Montgomery County Animal Shelter (“MCAS”) is over capacity and we are in great need of getting pets out of the shelter. As an open admission shelter we continue to receive dogs and cats daily. Since June 1st alone the shelter has taken in over 660 animals! Even with our existing fosters, rescues, transports and adoptions we can’t keep up. We need adopters, fosters and rescue partners TODAY - especially for medium and large dogs and for cats.

MCAS is waiving all pet adoption fees in an effort to get animals into loving homes and open up much needed kennel space. All adoptable pets will have been vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered.

We are open every day from 11:30 am – 5:00 pm for adoptions.
Fostering also helps free up kennel space and we are asking both new and existing fosters to reach out to our Foster Coordinator at foster.coordinator@mctx.org about foster opportunities.

Please help! Tell your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. We appreciate everyone who adopts, fosters, rescues or even just spreads the word. Every little bit of help we receive is very beneficial. We would be so thankful and grateful to get them into loving homes.
We are now at a critical capacity point!
