Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for June 30, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, would like to encourage all eligible residents to be vaccinated. Everyone 12 years of age and older is eligible for a vaccine in Texas.

Hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies have vaccines available. You can find a list of providers and additional information on the DSHS website here: https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/coronavirus/immunize/vaccine-hubs.aspx.

Please note, the COVID-19 Call Center will permanently close on June 30th. In the meantime, if you have questions about COVID-19 or vaccines, please call 936-523-3916. It is open Monday-Thursday from 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Since our June 23rd report, we can confirm three additional deaths related to COVID-19.


• A woman in her 50s, from Willis, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition
to testing positive for COVID-19.

• A man in his 60s, from Willis, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to
testing positive for COVID-19.

• A man in his 90s, from Splendora, died in a nursing home. He had co-morbidities in
addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We can also confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 175 to 55,580 since last Wednesday’s (6/23)
report.

• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 74 to 594 since last Wednesday’s (6/23)
report. Today, we accounted for 92 additional inactive cases who we have been unable
to contact for 30 days or more.

• 70 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the
hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

• 29,696 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County remains at 4% for the 3rd consecutive
week.
