KATY, TX -- The Woodlands Highlanders for the second week faced a huge opponent in the Texas High School circuit, the 9-time state champions Katy Tigers. Once again, the teams were evenly matched proving that The Highlanders are among the elite. Each team scored on their opening possession but from there it was a chess game. Katy resorted on the run game to advance the ball against the Woodlands and was successful for a couple of possessions but the Highlanders quickly shut them down.

The first half flew by with little stoppage times no injuries and barely any penalties. Along with being elite these teams are clean; they play hard but just enough to make plays and prevent flags. Katy led at the half and held the lead throughout the game. The Highlanders had a difficult time closing and making plays towards the end of the game. They seemed tired or their momentum had stopped which each team drives off of.

After the game coach Rapp was not too thrilled with the loss. “I’m not ok with moral victories. We got to close the gape we got to be able to close the gap from being a good football team to being a great football team and that comes down to being able to et stops late in games.”

The Highlanders are set to face Aguilas MX Prep from Mexico City next week. And when asked about what needs to change for next week Coach Rapp said. “It starts with me, it starts with how we practice.”
