Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for September 24, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can confirm Montgomery County vaccination rates are up by 10% in the past two months. Thank you to all our residents who are doing your part to keep yourself, your loved ones and our community
safer.

Have you been vaccinated for COVID-19? We strongly recommend it. Even if you contract COVID-19 after vaccination, the chances of severe illness, hospitalization and death are low. Just 54 percent of eligible Montgomery County residents are vaccinated. Need to find a vaccine? Click here for additional vaccine sites: https://www.vaccines.gov/

Today, the CDC endorsed Pfizer booster shots for those who are 65 years of age and older, immunocompromised individuals and those who work in high-risk industries. For more information, click here: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/p0924-booster-recommendations-.html.

Today, we can also confirm six additional deaths related to COVID-19.

• A woman in her 50s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in
addition to testing positive for COVID-19. She was not vaccinated.

• A woman in her 50s, from Porter, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in
addition to testing positive for COVID-19. She was not vaccinated.

• A man in his 50s, from Cleveland, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition
to testing positive for COVID-19. He was not vaccinated.

• A man in his 50s, from Stagecoach, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in
addition to testing positive for COVID-19. He was not vaccinated.

• A man in his 60s, from Conroe, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to
testing positive for COVID-19. He was not vaccinated.

• A man in his 80s, from Porter, died in the hospital. He had co-morbidities in addition to
testing positive for COVID-19. He had received one dose of a required 2-dose vaccine.

We can also confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 473 to 83,949 since Wednesday’s (9/22) report.

• Of the 473 new cases, 90 are under the age of 12 and not eligible for vaccination.


• 372 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the
hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

• 32,254 people have clinically recovered.
