THE WOODLANDS, TX -- John Cooper Sports: Dragon Winter Teams Get The Season Started

Results from the week of November 8

VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL

11/9 vs. Legacy Prep • 55-27 W

11/12 vs. Frassati • 77-59 W

11/13 vs. Lutheran South • 43-41 L

Coach Matthew Wilson: What a week of basketball for the JCS program! All teams from 6th-Varsity began this week, with each opening victoriously. The varsity team had a busy week with three home games. The team competed with pride and was stingy defensively in all three match-ups. We had great contributions from all of the members of the team, with senior Mac Macaul, and sophomores Jackson Williams and Tres Luzey leading the charge for the Dragons. We look forward to a tournament next week at Rosehill Christian. We will play five games in three days and cannot wait to play!

Coach Bryan Sherman: The boys played well in the season opener but we still have a long way to go to achieve our goals this season. We are going to take things one game at a time. Our next challenge is Tuesday, at home, versus a strong St. Thomas team.

November 16 vs St. Thomas High School, 7 p.m.

VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER
11/10 vs. Woodlands Christian • 6-2 L

Coach Amber Clevenger: Wednesday’s game versus The Woodlands Christian Academy was just what we needed to start the season. It was a challenging game against a talented team and although it ended in a 2-6 loss, we were able to see what we needed to work on. Goals by Sharlenn Meixeiro and Maddie Van Osdell.

11/11 vs. Lutheran South • 2-1 W

Coach Amber Clevenger: Thursday’s game versus Lutheran South was another great opportunity for me to see where we are as a team. It was nice to get our first win 2-1, with goals by Chloe Smith and Tamsin Prudencio. While there are still things we need to work on, I believe we are on our way to putting the puzzle together.
