THE WOODLANDS, TX – As anyone who has been suffering allergies this past week can attest, spring is literally right around the corner. Our final weekend of winter will bring us some gorgeous sunny skies. The first day of spring on Monday, however, will bring a whole different weather pattern along with it.

The first week of spring will see sunny skies and also a couple of days of rain

Today there won’t be a cloud in the sky as we hit our high of 72, a great way to kick off the weekend. Lows tonight will fall to 45 under clear skies. Saturday, the high will go up a few degrees to 77 as cloud cover creeps in, trapping in some of the warmth. As the day progresses, however, the clouds will meander away and we’ll once again enjoy blanket weather that night with a low of 45 again.

The last day of winter will go out in style on Sunday; mostly sunny skies with a high of 78. Enjoy it while you can, though, as overnight the clouds will come roaring in and bringing with them some thunderstorms. Pretty much all day Monday will be muggy and wet, with a high of 75 and a low of 60. As Tuesday morning dawns, though, the rains will trickle into a few showers and then finally peter out. The high of 76 will most likely have steam rising off the sidewalks, so be sure to wear layers. Tuesday afternoon and evening will be a lot nicer than how the morning begins, but that’s nothing compared to what is coming.

Wednesday through the rest of the week will see gorgeous sunny skies with highs ranging from the upper 60s to the lower 70s, and lows in the 40s and 50s. This is the perfect opportunity to soak up some sunlight and refill on Vitamin D.

With weather like this in the forecast, and at the risk of jinxing it, it appears that we avoided a repeat of last year’s hard freeze. Now we get to enjoy that uniquely Texas fugue state where you have to run your furnace and your air conditioning on the same day.

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online.
