HOUSTON, TX -- Donors and volunteers dressed in pink, along with spectators, flooded into the NRG Arena Sales Pavilion to witness record breaking bids for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Junior Market Barrows.

The Black Cross Barrow, Hank, strutted around the auction stage as the crowd erupted when the record-breaking bid was announced.

“The day we saw him, we knew we found a special one,” said Kaden.

Reserve Grand Champion Barrow, exhibited by 9-year-old Reed Schacher from Dumas FFA, sold to Cristina and Chris Box, Tristin and Joe Durham, Bridgette and John Grimes, and Amey French and Mark Ward. Another Rodeo record was broken, as the barrow sold for $200,000.

“This experience is priceless and we are blessed to be able to do this. It’s our kids and it’s our future,” said Chris Box.
