THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Losing a child from a premature birth is heart clenching. The Harmonie Grace Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit, provides funding and awareness for financial, educational, and emotional support including after-life care for families who have endured the loss of premature infants. They also offer empowering activities to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) families.

The Harmonie Grace Foundation was created in 2019 in memory of Adriauna Davis’s daughter Harmonie Grace. Already on bedrest from a shortened cervix, Adriauna went into premature labor at 22 ½ weeks after her water broke. While in the hospital her neonatologist and obstetrician both encouraged Adriauna to deliver her baby quickly as the child’s heart was declining rapidly. Born at 23 weeks and 1 day, Adriauna welcomed their first baby girl, Harmonie Grace, on June 23, 2018. Weighing 15 ounces at birth, the medical team didn’t expect Harmonie Grace to survive. Harmonie was the smallest micro preemie in the Women and Children’s Hospital prior to being transferred to a higher level of care. Unfortunately, on January 30, 2019, Harmonie Grace lost her desperate fight.

Adriauna Davis, Founder and Executive Director of The Harmonie Grace Foundation, had a vision to inspire hope to families of at-risk infants. “As a former NICU mom, I know the support that is needed to help the families when faced with a pre-term infant. The board of directors and I are passionate about providing support to families of premature or extremely ill infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and to those who have been affected by a pregnancy or infant loss.”

Since 2020 The Harmonie Grace Foundation (HGF) has hosted two 5K Walk Run + Jog events, launched a new podcast series, NICU Moms Connect on Facebook Live and YouTube, and raised $10,000 to alleviate financial burdens to families experiencing a child loss. In their first year of 2020 HGF supported a father who lost his wife during childbirth while his newborn daughter was in the NICU.

“Before Covid lockdowns we educated parents at the hospitals”, said Adriauna. “We are increasing our visibility to parents in the NICU and continue to follow up after they leave the hospital to support a relationship if they need us for any reason. We also partner moms together in same stage of their pregnancy to offer support”.

The 3rd Annual 5K Walk Run is Saturday, June 25 near Town Green Park located at 2099 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands starting at 8:00am. Registration is $35 online and in person the day of the race starting at 7:00am. Each registered participant receives a t-shirt, wristband, a finisher’s medal, and a thank you card for making a difference to The Harmonie Grace Foundation.
