THE WOODLANDS, TX – Weather in The Woodlands this weekend is predicting sunny skies on both ends, so if you were looking with hope for a sudden drop in summer-level temps, sad to say you’ll probably be disappointed; the lowest it’s going to get is 72 degrees, and that’s in the dead of night.

Diminishing cloud cover will add to the outdoor fun

Though we’re forecasting greyer skies in between the sunny bookends, there’s only a slight chance of a little rain off and on, so it's shaping up to be a perfect weekend for a range of activities both inside and outside the house.

If you can’t stand the heat, you won’t stand a chance against the humidity, which will get up into the high 90s, percentage wise, each day and will struggle to get down to 50 percent at night. We have the potential of stray showers and a thunderstorm throughout this morning, but the chances of clearer skies arrive before lunchtime. Our high temperature will hit 91 by noon, but overnight will fall to the upper 70s. It won’t be all moonshine and rainbows tonight – in fact, it will be outright dull and dreary, with clouds and additional chances of drizzle hanging on from this afternoon all through the night.

Sunrise on Saturday will hit at 6:20 – altogether too early for many of us – and the rays will be with us all day. We should expect a curious consistency of light clouds and gentle sunshine. With light winds never breaking 5 mph, we’ll feel the heat as the temps climb steadily up. A warm summer’s night will be expected, simmering down from 90 degrees at 6 o’clock in the evening to a cool of 80 by midnight.

With Sunday comes a slight change in the weekend’s norm, shifting from ‘partly cloudy’ to ‘mostly sunny.’ Winds will come up to a maximum of 15 mph and it’ll be time to play that classic Beatles tune ‘Here Comes the Sun.’ For the first time in days, clouds aren’t in the forecast at all throughout the entire afternoon and evening. The clearer skies and rising winds should be enough for any of us to grab our kites and hit a local park before the temps reach their high of 96.

As your head hits the pillow Sunday night to prepare for another work week, returning clouds will make for a partly cloudy Monday morning.
