THE WOODLANDS, TX – The weather this past week has been nothing if not hot and humid. With bright blue skies, beating sun, and an ever-running air conditioning, there’s been nonstop pleading for cloud coverage for relief. Unfortunately, not even the upcoming shade can make a dent on the heat that’s going to blast us over the weekend.

Clouds will lock in the humidity, making for a sweltering weekend

With the highest reaching 99 degrees, don’t be expecting a cool-down any time soon. Take your opportunity now to put away your sunglasses and peel off your sun hats, as we will be kicking it off with a mostly cloudy Friday morning that will give way later on to some sunny skies.

Though we started off the morning in our upper 70s, humidity follows the morning dew but drops dry by afternoon, reaching the 90s just in time for lunch. A mostly sunny rest of the day ensues, and so does a rise in heat. It’s only as night crawls in that we see a drop back to the 70s for a low.

Saturday we will be keeping on with a fully cloudy day. With not a break until evening, the steady rise from 77 leads to our hottest day this weekend. Peaking at 5:00 p.m., the weather will reach a soul-crushing high that will feel like 104 degrees as a shift of clouds moves over to let more sunshine in. A mostly to partly cloudy transition turns to a night of clear skies and a steady drop from sunset at 8 o’clock.

To end the week, Sunday starts similarly; the only difference is that, by noon, gentle winds will be picking up. A slight breeze to partner with the warm air, a mostly sunny afternoon is the perfect way to end the week. The temps will creep back up and threaten to break 100, so be sure to stay hydrated.

Sunday night makes way for a partly cloudy Monday morning.with a low in the upper 70s, and it looks like next week – the final full week before summer officially begins – will keep the hot/cloudy trend going.
