THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Thirty eight members from Church Project, from Woodland, Texas traveled to Alaska on a short-term mission trip, led by Thirst Missions, from June 11-18, 2022. The team was headed up by Calvin Taylor.

Church Project spent the majority of their time in Wasilla, Alaska which is a city about an hour north of Anchorage. They partnered with Wasilla Bible Church and Reach 907 with Executive Director Rachel Olson. The team served the church and Reach 907 through service projects, outreach, and a youth camp. They were able to meet people who needed the love of Jesus in their lives and made memories that they will never forget.

For some fun at the end of their trip they went to the Anchorage Market, Eklutna, Byron Glacier, Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, and Virgin Creek Falls. They were able to see beautiful different views, an everyday Alaskan market, and varieties of Alaskan wildlife. Alaska truly is the last frontier, as their state motto indicates.

Thirst Missions is based in Forest Lake, Minnesota, and has been organizing and leading mission trips since 2008. Thirst Missions, the world’s leader in short term missions, lead groups on trips to Alaska, Appalachia, Belize, and Puerto Rico. Whether it is poverty, homelessness, alcoholism, or other struggles, churches in these areas are in need of love and support. Thirst Missions teams partner with churches on location while taking care of all the logistics and planning, so the group members can lead ministry, while building lasting relationships. Thirst Missions is looking forward to serving with Church Project in the future!
