Free Fare Fridays in September
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- September is Commute Solutions Month, and The Woodlands Township is making it easy to give public transit a try with Free Fare Fridays! Every Friday in September—September 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2026—you can hop on The Woodlands Express and ride for free. No tickets needed, just grab a seat and enjoy the ride!
Whether you rely on The Woodlands Express for your daily commute or have been curious to try it for the first time, Free Fare Fridays are the perfect opportunity to experience a free, convenient and comfortable way to travel to Houston destinations, including Downtown, Greenway Plaza, Texas Medical Center and the Energy Corridor. Regular routes and schedules will operate, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Thanks to a partnership with the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s Commute Solutions Program, this special promotion is the perfect opportunity to save money, skip the traffic and discover how convenient public transit can be.
The Woodlands Express departs from three Park and Ride locations:
- Research Forest Park & Ride – 3900 Marsico Place
- Sterling Ridge Park & Ride – 8001 McBeth Way
- Sawdust Park & Ride – 701 Westridge Road
