THE WOODLANDS, TX – The scattered thunderstorms we’ve been experiencing over the past day or so continue today as cloud cover blankets the area and the high temperature struggles to break 92 this afternoon. Most of us can expect at least some light rain as the day progresses. For some indoors fun away from the elements, how about heading out to Bayway Cadillac this evening for the delectable Platinum Vault Wine Tasting event as part of Food and Wine Week?

There won’t be a lot of sun this weekend, but that’s not necessarily bad news

The clouds will abate somewhat overnight but won’t entirely go away; neither will the chance of precipitation. Saturday’s outlook seems to be a coin toss depending on your precise location. Winds will kick up considerably as the cloud cover increases, and there will be spikes of rain, but overall we’d have to call it “mostly cloudy” for many areas. The official high temp will be 96, but the accompanying humidity will push it well past 100. Kicking off the morning is something for the whole family to enjoy: the YMCA Kids Duathlon hosted by Texas Children’s Hospital - The Woodlands.

The cloud cover will only get greater as Saturday rolls into Sunday, and an overnight low in the mid 70s. The thunderstorms will come back in a scattered pattern; overall, this might be a good day to stay indoors. In fact, Texas Axe Throwing has a special Sunday Funday deal you might want to check out. As night descends, however, the precipitation and clouds will lessen, and things should be relatively quiet and cool with a low around 73.

As Monday hits us, we should only have to deal with clouds without precipitation; however, there just might be some storm clouds on the horizon…

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
