THE WOODLANDS, TX – No, your thermostat didn’t break, and no, your Echo or Google Home wasn’t playing a joke on you when you asked the temperature this morning: we flirted with a low in the 50s overnight, and this is a trend that will continue over the weekend.

This weekend is near-perfection, weather wise… but will it last?

For the rest of today, bask in the glory in temperatures that won’t get above the 80s with nary a cloud in the sky. We have a few more hours of moderate winds out of the northeast before they diminish along with the sunlight. By sundown, we’ll be back into the 70s, and such a low humidity count means that there is a practical nil heat index; what the temp is is what you feel.

Take the opportunity to stop by Northshore Park and cheer on the contestants of the annual Dragon Boat Competition hosted by the local YMCA and lasting all weekend. Around midnight tonight we’ll creep into the 50s for a low of 51 that will hit around 7 o’clock tomorrow morning.

Saturday will warm up just a tad, with a high of 86, and sunlight untainted by any clouds. The winds will make a midday appearance before finally going away. Once again we’ll swiftly hit the 70s, then 60s, then 50s overnight as the cool front continues. As day segues towards evening, we can’t think of a better place to hit than the Creekside Park West Fall Festival.

For Sunday, it’ll be a little warmer and a lot more cloudy. We’ll get up to 87 for a high – again with a zero additional heat index – but steadily increasing cloud cover and a return of caressing winds will make it more bearable for the sun-sensitive of us. Another low in the 50s will cap off a near-perfect weekend. This is a golden chance to get out and about in comfort and get to know your neighbors and your community with one of the Township’s several celebrations of National Night Out.

As the weekend draws to a close, however, the clouds are really starting to form, and the “9” in your thermometer may make a return appearance…
