TOMBALL, TX -- Lone Star College - Tomball Community Library has released their schedule of events for Novemberr 2022.

Children’s Programs:
Toddler Time
Tuesdays, November 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 @ 10:30 am
Join other toddlers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Toddler Time uses age-appropriate stories, songs and finger plays to engage toddlers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards toddlers ages 18 months through 3 years. Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Participating children must have a ticket to attend Toddler Time. For more information, call the library at 832-559-4235.

Crafternoon
Tuesday, November 1 @ 5:00 pm
We’re bringing back the 90’s at Crafternoon this month! Join us as we create our own Cozy Critters and design spaces for them to chill out. We’ll spend our time customizing our Critters and making houses that match their styles. This program is for kids ages 7- 12. Required registration begins one week prior on the library’s website. Pokémon League
Saturdays, November 5 & 19 @ 1:30 pm
Love playing the Pokémon card game and discussing all things Pokémon with fellow fans? Join the Pokémon League every first and third Saturday, sponsored by the Magnolia City Pokémon Gym. Discover: Turkey Day
Wednesday, November 16 @ 1:30 pm
Join us as we prepare for Thanksgiving by making Turkey Hats and a Turkey Handprint (we will be painting our hands so please wear messy clothes). Hands-On History: The 1970s

All about the 1970s! From the Vietnam War to the release of the video game Space Invaders, learn all about what is now called the 'Me Decade.' Then, create a lava lamp craft to take home! How to Draw Cartoon Animals With Possum!
November 4th @ 4:30pm-6:00pm
Learn to draw with a guest artist from our Board of Advisory Young Adults (BAYA), Possum! Learn to how to draw animal characters (both ‘feral’ and ‘anthropomorphic’). Paper and pens/pencils will be provided, but feel free to bring your own supplies if you prefer – this tutorial will work for both digital and analog mediums! Registration is required. AARP Digital Skills Ready@50+ Program Schedule: Social Media for Job Searches
Tuesday, November 1 at 10:30 am in the Tomball Innovation Lab or online! What you need to know to make sure your personal social media presence is ready for your job search and beyond. Did you know that not having any social media could be a red flag for potential employers? In this lecture, we’ll discuss ways to make sure social media helps you when you’re looking for work! We’ll review the best platforms for professional use, as well as which platforms are best kept private and for personal use. Lastly, we’ll demonstrate which privacy settings to use to keep your personal content private. Registration is required.

Tomball Art League Art Show and Sale

Join us for the Tomball Art League Show & Sale, held at the Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library! The Art Show and Sale is free and open to the Public. Art Intake will take place on Thursday, November 10th from 1pm - 6pm. Showcase of 1st place and best in Show winners is on November 12th at 1pm. A portion of the proceeds from the art sale will help raise funds for the Friends of LSC-Tomball Community Library to support library programming.

Dinovember Scavenger Hunt!
All month long, throughout the library
Join us for an all-ages scavenger hunt to celebrate the “imagination invasion!” Each week 5 dinosaurs will be hidden throughout the library for patrons to find. Visit the Reference Desks for rules and how to participate.

Soldiers Supplies Donations
All month long, 1st floor donation box
We will be collecting donations all month long to be sent to Boots for Troops, a local non-profit that mails care packages to troops deployed across the globe. Items needed for donation include dry snacks, toiletries, books, candy, ground coffee, letters of encouragement, etc. Donations can be dropped off at the library’s 1st floor elevators in the donation box.
