THE WOODLANDS, TX – Monday’s rising cloud cover and temperature aren’t necessarily setting the trend for the entire week. In fact, things are kind of downhill from here.

The week can't decide if it wants to be wet or dry, warm or cool

For the rest of today, we’ll hit our high of 79 before quitting time, then the temps will nosedive into the 50s tonight even as the cloud cover goes from halfway to a complete blanket.

Tuesday we’ll experience an ever-increasing chance of showers until early in the afternoon, when the precipitation is expected to lessen along with the near-total cloud cover. The high will struggle to get over 70, so enjoy the coolness while you can as the low hits 55.

On Wednesday, we’ll see a marked increase in temperature with the high straining to hit 80 and just might make it. The clouds will remain at about 50 percent throughout the meat of the day but the chances of rain are pretty slim. You might have to kick off one of the blankets that night as the low will only hit 60.

Thursday will definitely be warmer and muggier as humidity actually hits 100 percent off and on throughout the day. A quarter-chance of early morning showers won’t help the dampness. Some winds out of the southeast around 11 mph will blow some of the clouds away for a relatively calm overnight with a low in the mid 60s.

The tide turns on Friday as the clouds and winds kick in big time. A front that pushes the temps well into the 80s will also bring with it some thunderstorms that will keep going well into Saturday morning.

Long story short, we suggest to throw an extra jacket in your car and pack at least one umbrella, just in case, as the weekend is shaping up to be more of the same wackiness…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
