THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The following events are planned for adults, children, young adults, and their families in November 2022 at George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library, 8125 Ashlane Way, The Woodlands, Texas.

Monthly Events at the Library
Tuesday, November 15th at 1:30pm – Crafternoons
Register and join us for Crafternoons, a craft program for adults to express their creativity! Each month will feature free crafts to create and take home. No advanced skills needed; just show up ready to have fun and meet other community members! All supplies and self-directed instructions are provided; registration is required. November’s craft will be an Air Plant Fairy Garden.

Wednesday, November 16th at 6:30pm – Adult Evening Book Club
Not sure what to read next? Let us pick the book for you! The Evening Book Club reads a mix of fiction and nonfiction selections and meets in Large Meeting Room 102 for a lively discussion of the current book. November’s book of choice is The Book Woman’s Daughter by Kim Michele Richardson, which follows a daughter of a beloved Troublesome book woman fighting against injustice and ignorance with the help of the books that set her free.

Thursday, November 17th at 1:00pm – Adult Movie Matinee
Mitchell’s Movie Matinee will feature Death on the Nile (2022) in the Large Meeting Room. Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s vacation aboard a glamorous Egyptian river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. There are enough twists and turns to leave the audience guessing until the final, shocking denouement. Starring: Gal Gadot, Kenneth Branagh, and Annette Bening. PG-13 (No registration is required.)

Monday, November 21st from 1pm-5:30pm– Teen Movie Marathon– Teens 13-17
Join us for a JUST FOR TEENS Doctor Strange Movie Marathon, rated PG-13 in the Large Meeting Room. Registration required. Popcorn, candy, and pizza served!

Tuesday, November 22nd at 10am– Family Movie– Ages 5-12
Come join the fun and your friends while watching a great movie on the big screen. Snacks will be provided. This program is geared for ages 5-12 and must have an adult in the library.

Weekly Events at the Library
Mondays from 10:00am-11:00am - Tiny Tots Library Play Time – Ages 3 and younger
A Family Place Library weekly event. This come-and-go program at the Mitchell Library encourages play with educational toys and activities that target early literacy. Spend time together, play in a playgroup atmosphere, make friends, and visit with other parents.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00am & 11:00am - Family Storytime – Ages 5 and younger
Join us at Mitchell Library for a morning of stories. This story program is geared for children five and younger and a caregiver and emphasizes stories and activities for toddlers. It is also a great way to meet other families in the area with young children.


Library Holiday Closing
Thanksgiving Early Closing – November 23rd all MCMLS branches close at 5pm
Thanksgiving Holiday – November 24th – 26th all MCMLS branches closed
