PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- The Woodlands and Duncanville met up in round three of the UIL football playoffs. Duncanville defeated Wylie in the previous round 41-0, while The Woodlands took down Klein Cain 62-21.

The first half was a defensive showdown as The Woodlands and Duncanville stopped each other short of converting the ball on third down. Wei Wei played a huge roll in The Woodlands stopping Duncanville as he was part of many defensive plays.

The teams would keep the ball on the ground but it was The Woodlands who would strike first with a 36-yard field goal with just 30 seconds left in the first quarter. Once again in the second quarter the teams would keep the ball on the ground inching for yardage on every play.

Duncanville received the ball after a Woodlands punt and on that possession took it to the house. This gave Duncanville the lead going into the second half. Wei Wei would once again play a huge roll for The Woodlands defense as he intercepted the ball with just seconds left in the half.

The second half was totally opposite of the first, as Duncanville came out and chalked up 2 quick touchdowns; one off their first possession of the half and the other off a Highlander fumble.

By just under 7 minutes in the third quarter, Duncanville was up 28-3 while The Woodlands struggled to contain the run as well as convert on offense.

With a couple of interceptions and turnovers Duncanville would close out The Woodlands early in the fourth quarter with a 35-3 lead. In the end, Duncanville would hold The Woodlands and prevent them from putting more points on the board.

Duncanville will move on to face Westfield in the Regional Semifinals next week.

Final Score 35-3, Duncanville.
