February election process underway; filing continues until January 19 for The Woodlands Residential Design Review Committees and Village Associations

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The process has begun for the 2023 February Election for The Woodlands Residential Design Review Committees and Village Associations with the opening of filing on December 29, 2022. Filing closes on January 19, 2023, for the election to be held on February 18, 2023.

Are you interested in running for office?
Filing for Residential Design Review Committee and Village Association offices continues until 5 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023. Filing forms and information can be obtained from The Woodlands Township website, www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/februaryelection, or The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. No forms will be accepted after the 5 p.m. deadline on January 19. Candidates who are interested in running, but do not file by the deadline will be able to run as a write-in candidate only if they file as such by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Specific questions regarding the elections can be directed to Laure Morgan or Karen Dempsey at 281-210-3800. Filing is open to residents and property owners in The Woodlands, age 18 and over. Positions require residency and/or property ownership in specific villages and interested individuals should refer to the appropriate Bylaws and Covenants for eligibility requirements.

Plan to vote!
All voting for the Residential Design Review Committees and Village Associations will take place at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, located at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.

• Convenience voting: Monday, February 13, through Friday, February 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Election Day: Saturday, February 18, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Reminder: For any Residential Design Review Committee or Village Association that does not have a contested race as of 5 p.m. on January 25, the entity’s election will be cancelled and the seating and/or filling of vacancies will proceed in accordance with the entity’s bylaws. A list of contested and cancelled elections will be posted on the Township website prior to the start of early voting.
