TOMBALL, TX -- Tomball Community Library has released their schedule of events for February 2023.

Children’s Programs:

Toddler Time
Wednesdays, February 1, 8, 15, 22 @ 9:30 am
Join other toddlers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Toddler Time uses age-appropriate stories, songs and finger plays to engage toddlers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards toddlers ages 18 months through 3 years. Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Participating children must have a ticket to attend Toddler Time. For more information, call the library at 832-559-4235.

Preschool Story Time

Hands-On History: The California Gold Rush

Join us at Hands-On History to learn about a specific historical topic and complete a hands-on activity or craft related to it! Strike it rich this week as we investigate the California Gold Rush, the legacy of the 'forty-niners,' and how gold in California impacted westward expansion! This program is for kids ages 8-12. Discover: Alma’s Art
Wednesday, February 15 @ 1:30 pm
Art makes our world a beautiful place, don't you think? Join us as we read “Alma's Art” by Roda Ahmed and learn about American artist Alma Thomas, the first Black woman to have her art featured in the White House Collection. We'll honor her impact on art by recreating her bold, colorful style in collage form. This program is for kids ages 4-7 and their parent/guardian. Hands-On History: The Cowboy Era

Reading Education Assistance Dogs

Do you love K-Pop, Anime, and Manga? Come join our Young Adult Anime & K-Pop Club in the Tomball Library Teen Room on the 2nd Friday of every month. African American History Month TED Talks for Teens
February 13th from 4:30pm - 5:30pm
Celebrate African American History Month by watching influential TED Talks by Black speakers. There will be a chance for discussion after each video. These short videos featuring musicians, poets, and community leaders are inspiring and uplifting. We'll have comfy seating, popcorn, and coloring sheets, as well as a variety of books to checkout.

Teen Movie Night

AARP Tax Aid
Every Monday & Wednesday – February 1st to April 17th (except Feb 8th) AARP is back with free tax aid! Registration is required – please call 832-559-4200 to book a time slot and for additional information.

Soldiers Supplies Donations
All month long, 1st floor donation box
We will be collecting donations all month long to be sent to Boots for Troops, a local non-profit that mails care packages to troops deployed across the globe. Items needed for donation include dry snacks, toiletries, books, candy, ground coffee, letters of encouragement, etc. Donations can be dropped off at the library’s 1st floor elevators in the donation box. Every Monday @ 1 pm
Have questions about using our digital media transfer equipment? Need personal help to make sure you get started on your project correctly? Use our Digitization Station Help Hour for expert advice and troubleshooting.
