THE WOODLANDS, TX – It’s a day of remembrance and commemoration of a true historical figure of social justice, Martin Luther King, Jr. As part of the MLK Day tradition, it’s a school and bank holiday. Maybe you yourself have the day off, maybe not. But in any case, whether you have school- or preschool-age children or are flying solo, Woodlands Online has a few events and locations that you can partake of today.

Cordovan Art School – Art Class for Kids - Pencil Pastel Watercolor and Beyond: Ages 6- 8

Enrollment is always open! Jump in at any time! If you want to experience a touch of everything, or if you are just plain indecisive, this is the perfect ART class for you! George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library – Tiny Tots Library Play Time

A Family Place Library weekly event. This come-and-go program at the Mitchell Library encourages play with educational toys and activities that target early literacy. Spend time together, play in a play group atmosphere, make friends and visit with other parents. * Food is not allowed in the program; please save your snacks for afterwards. The Ice Rink – Final Day
Glide into the magic of the holiday season at The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center! Enjoy indoor ice skating at a 21,000 square-foot facility, located at the intersection of Six Pines and Lake Robbins, next to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The Ice Rink offers birthday parties and rink rentals, plus ice skating lessons.

In-Step Dance & Performance Arts – Free Dance Class Pass
Two weeks of free dance classes for children is a great way to get kids moving and having fun. Children of all ages and skill levels can benefit from learning basic dance steps and developing their coordination and rhythm. The classes can be tailored to each child’s individual needs and interests, from ballet to hip hop to jazz. The classes provide a safe and supportive environment for children to learn, express themselves, and build confidence. It is also an opportunity for children to meet new friends and have fun while learning something new. The Learning Zoo – Martin Luther King Jr Day Hours

Visit The Learning Zoo on Monday, January 16 from 10-3PM! Bring the whole family out to explore the zoo, meet amazing animals, and maybe get your picture taken with a python or pony! Move at your own pace as you feed tortoises, play with our friendly petting zoo pals, and check out the inhabitants of our Reptile House! Reptile encounters will be scheduled throughout the day as well! Tickets must be purchased for all guests over the age of 12 months. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
