Oak Ridge North PD pull over driver, find pills, stolen gun, and cash

OAK RIDGE NORTH, TX -- Last night at approximately 11:48pm an Oak Ridge North PD Officer stopped a 2017 Ford Explorer traveling 86 mph in a 65-mph zone on the IH-45N Freeway and Woodlands Pkwy overpass. While the officer was speaking to the driver who was identified as Pena, Valentino, 33 YOA, the officer noticed a black Glock 43X in the driver’s side door pocket. Pena advised the officer that he did not have insurance for the vehicle. The officer discovered that Pena’s Texas driver’s license was suspended, and the vehicle registration was expired. The officer called for an Oak Ridge North wrecker and began to inventory the vehicle. While the officer was inventorying the vehicle, he discovered a small clear bag containing several pills of Alprazolam which Pena did not have a prescription for. Also located was a small bottle of THC wax. The officer also located a black FN Five-Seven, 5.7 handgun which was reported stolen from Harris County Pct. 3 Constable Office. Pena was placed under arrest for the THC wax, the Alprazolam and the for the possession of the stolen firearm. The officer also discovered $4518.86 in US currency in Pena’s wallet and front pocket. The THC wax, Alprazolam, Glock 43x, FN Five-Seven handgun, and the currency were placed into evidence at the Oak Ridge North Police Department. Pena’s vehicle was towed from the scene and Pena was transported to the Montgomery County Jail for booking.
