CONROE, TX -- The 13-6A district playoffs will come down to the wire as Conroe hosts College Park in a must win matchup. College Park, Conroe, and Caney Creek are all fighting for a playoff seed in the final game of the district season.

Conroe came out aggressive, knowing they must score first against the equally aggressive College Park. From the beginning College Park was the aggressor and put pressure on the ball anywhere on the field. They both kept the tempo of the game high as they battled up and down the field.

College Park would strike first and find the back of the net with less than five minutes left in the half. Conroe would gain the advantage but couldn’t connect on the few shots on goal before the 40 minutes was over.

The teams would come back in the second half with the same momentum and aggression but it was once again College Park that would keep the ball on their side of the field. At the 31 minute mark in the second half, College Park would increase their lead 2-0 over Conroe.

Conroe would try to attack the goal but College Park wouldn’t back down. It wasn’t until the eighth minute left in the game where Conroe would score off a penalty kick from a handball. The game would intensify as Conroe would continue to try to attack the net but the College Park defense would tighten up and prevent many of the attacks.

As the buzzer rang, College Park would secure their spot in the playoffs winning against Conroe, 2-1. In the thrilling game, College Park head coach would say, “to fight through this district and what those games are week in and week out has been fantastic and to get through this and then to be able to move on and keep playing; that’s the big thing. We just want to keep playing.”
