THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township has created a transit plan for commuters, residents and visitors to share thoughts on traveling both within areas of The Woodlands and commuting to the Houston area.

The Woodlands Township Transit Plan will provide a framework to increase ridership, reduce travel times and right-size service as the region emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. This study will evaluate ways to improve post-COVID transit service across fixed route/ADA paratransit and commuter bus, improve driver retention and evaluate the potential of expanding service across different geographies and users.

This process will provide a targeted and comprehensive response to inform improvement priorities, as well as provide a framework for funding and implementation specific for The Woodlands Township and surrounding area.

The survey and an interactive map of the service area can be accessed through the Township website at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/transportation.

A virtual town hall meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 6 to 7 p.m. for those interested in participating in a conversation, asking questions and sharing thoughts to help create a unique transit experience in The Woodlands. Access to this meeting is available on the same survey and interactive map page mentioned above. Feedback from the public is open until May 15, 2023. RSVP is not required to attend.
