The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Submits Testimony Supporting 'The Texas Jobs and Security Act' Legislation

AUSTIN, TX -- Today J.J. Hollie, President and CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, submitted the following testimony to the Texas House of Representatives Ways & Means Committee in Support of HB, 5, The Texas Jobs and Security Acts.

Chairman Morgan Meyer and Members of the Committee,

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, the largest business organization in the Houston area is providing a written testimony in support of HB 5, relating to the business climate, and fostering future growth by developing a new transparent and accountable economic development policy.

As the voice of business in The Woodlands area, we are committed to keeping our region competitive, improving the business climate, and advancing policies that create a more prosperous environment. To further support the business community The Woodlands Chamber of Directors passed the following resolution.

Economic Development Resolution:
The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Business Advocacy Council support the overall efforts from economic development partnerships, initiatives and policies while advancing economic growth and prosperity. These policies include:

• Supporting programs and efforts of those who bring capital investments that improve our economy, like programs offered by The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership.

• Increasing job creation efforts to meet workforce needs.

• Advocating for economic development incentive programs that diversify our economy by attracting new and existing industries to Texas.

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce encourages state and local policymakers to support the creation of economic development programs that attract competitive and new projects to Texas.

The Chamber will continue to promote strong relationships with our community partners and our legislators to build a Montgomery County and a better Texas.
