Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution partners with Texas A&M Forest Service

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution has teamed up with the Texas A&M Forest Service for a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for W.G. Jones State Forest Conservation Area, sponsored by the Texas DAR.

The event will take place on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the W. G. Jones State Forest, 1328 F.M. 1488 in Conroe.

The Texas Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring a 100-acre conservation area in the W.G. Jones State Forest, which is managed by the Texas A&M Forest Service and funded by proceeds from the sale of the Texas Society DAR State Forest in Jasper County. Forest management practices within the conservation area will focus on improving the habitat for the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker.

The five Montgomery County chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution who will hostess the event include Coushatti Trace, Joanna Troutman, Margaret Montgomery, Spring Creek, and Twin Creeks.
