The Woodlands Township to host an Open House for the SH 242 shared use path (SUP)

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township will host an Open House on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m., at The Township’s Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., to address the SH 242/Harper’s Landing shared use path (SUP) addition.

The Board of Directors approved the proposal from Quiddity regarding a Texas Department of Transportation Grant and authorized a budget amendment to utilize up to $100,000 in funds for grant development services towards the construction of a shared use path (SUP), per TxDOT standards, from the Harper’s Landing community of The Woodlands to SH 242 that will extend from 1-45 to FM 1488. The proposed $8.3 million project will include a 5.3-mile pathway that connects the neighborhood of Harper’s Landing to the existing bike and pedestrian pathway system.

The goal of this project is to connect the more isolated neighborhoods of The Woodlands and create a more cohesive feel throughout the community.

The open house will provide residents with information about the grant application process, address safety and connectivity issues, neighborhood impact and will give residents the opportunity to provide feedback regarding this proposed project.
