THE WOODLANDS, TX – The good news is, we’ve already hit our high today – a sweltering 92 that felt like 96 with the humidity factored in – and we’re in a general cooling trend over the next few days. The better news is, though there will be a lot of clouds covering the sky all weekend long, the chances of rain are pretty much near zero. Some gusty winds and a lowering dew point will make this weekend one of the more enjoyable ones.

On-again, off-again thunderstorms will dominate Mother’s Day Weekend

This afternoon and evening, the pressure and humidity will both briefly rise to help cool things down, and we’ll be back into the 70s around bedtime. All night long, the clouds will continue to form as the pressure maxes out and the skies end up about 75 percent occluded (or, should that be “occlouded”...?). Take advantage of the meteorological sweet spot and enjoy an outdoor concert headlined by The Dave Matthews Band at the Pavilion.

All of Saturday will be mostly cloudy as the cooling winds gust up to about 10 mph. The high temperature will be much more bearable than it was today, only getting up to 86, with an additional two degrees tacked on to the heat index. Nice weather to be outdoors picnicking, but maybe not sunbathing. How about heading to Market Street for their outdoor Spring Fine Arts Show? The late afternoon high temp will rapidly head south (and if there’s going to be any rain, this is probably the short time frame in which it will happen), and by the time we wake up on Sunday morning, we’ll be back in the 60s.

Sunday will be even cloudier and cooler. Expect an afternoon high of only 80, again feeling a tad warmer thanks to the humidity. Around lunchtime, the pressure will start to drop, and as a result the clouds will meander away. Celebrate the end of the weekend by hitting up David Wilcox’ acoustic set at Dosey Doe - The Big Barn! Our Sunday night low of 66 will presage a pretty mild work week ahead of us; not blisteringly hot nor clothes-stickingly wet.
