THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Hub Garage, a nonprofit organization dedicated to repairing cars for single moms at no cost, announced today they will be taking their one-of-a-kind car, made entirely out of coffee cups, on tour to seven states. Two locations of Christian Brothers Automotive in The Woodlands are on the tour list.

One-of-a-kind car made entirely out of coffee cups will appear

“We made the car out of coffee cups to help other moms realize they could donate what they usually spend on a cup of coffee to The Hub Garage and help single moms get their car repaired. Being a mom is hard and being a single mom is harder,” stated Jaclyn Dowdle, Chief of Staff for The Hub Garage.

The cup car was created to generate awareness for the millions of single moms nationwide who need reliable transportation to provide for themselves and their families. While it isn’t a working car, the cup car will be working to encourage people to donate what they usually spend on a cup of coffee to The Hub Garage. By doing so, they will help keep single moms in the driver’s seat of their lives.

The Hub Garage is encouraging people to follow the cup car’s journey around the country, come take a picture with the colorful car and share it to raise awareness and donations. 100% of donations go directly toward car repairs for single moms in need.

The cup car is currently in Colorado then on to Oklahoma. It will hit The Woodlands on July 6 at the Christian Brothers location on Panther Creek Pines, where it will be on display until July 13. The next day, it will be at the western location at FM 1488 until July 21. From there, it will head on to Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania, before returning to the Lone Star State at several Dallas-area locations.

Owner and Managing Director, Jonathan Carr added, “We’re not just fixing cars, we’re trying to break generational poverty. There are currently over 10 million single moms in the United States and nearly 30% of those moms are living below the poverty line. If these moms don’t have functioning transportation it affects their ability to get to work and get their kids to school. It affects the trajectory of their lives.”

“Pick a location near you, come take a pic and help us help moms,” stated Chief Operations Officer, Christy Kobuszewski.
