MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Food Bank is aiming high for its 11th annual Shootout Hunger sporting clays tournament on September 15, 2023 at Blackwood Sporting Co. located at 11400 FM 2854 Rd, Conroe, TX 77304. Shootout Hunger, presented by Cowboy Kia, raises awareness and funds to help provide food for children, families and seniors facing hunger in Montgomery County. Every dollar raised helps Montgomery County Food Bank provide up to four meals for those in need.
Montgomery County Food Bank encourages both shooters and non-shooters to attend the event. The tournament features an awards ceremony, team photos, and breakfast and lunch for attendees. There are numerous sponsorship opportunities available, however, this popular event sells out quickly so early reservations are strongly encouraged.

Event Details:
• Registration and breakfast open at 7:30 a.m.
• Welcoming remarks and safety briefing begins at 8:45 a.m.
• Sporting clays tournament begins at 9:00 a.m.
• Awards presentation and lunch begin around 12:00 p.m.

For the sixth year in a row, Cowboy Kia is the Presenting Sponsor of Shootout Hunger. Montgomery County Food Bank’s generous community partners and sponsors, like Cowboy Kia, raise much needed funds for Montgomery County residents in need. This year’s event is also made possible by Shootout Hunger Committee members George Waggoner President of First National Bank Texas and Montgomery County Food Bank Board Member, Rick Botello with Enterprise Holdings, Cheri Huber with Greater East Montgomery County Chamber, Heath Konesheck with B&L Pipeco Services, and Dan Roberts with B&L Pipeco Services.

“As the cost of groceries and other necessities continue to rise, our need for donations and support remains high as we work to fight hunger throughout the county,” said Kristine Marlow, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. “Events like Shootout Hunger help us unite the community, spread awareness, and raise much needed funds for our many neighbors facing food insecurity.”

For companies working on ESG (environmental, social and governance) efforts, supporting the Food Bank addresses both environmental and social issues. Not only does the Food Bank fight to end food insecurity, but it also combats food waste which contributes to 6.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions -according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Interested sponsors, teams, and individual shooters and non-shooters are encouraged to make their reservations online at mcfoodbank.org/shootouthunger or contact Kathy Rifaat, Director of Development for Montgomery County Food Bank, at krifaat@mcfoodbank.org or 936-271-8822.
