Red Cross opens a second shelter to assist those affected by the power outage

THE WOODLANDS, TX - The American Red Cross has opened a second emergency shelter in The Woodlands area to assist those affected by the power outage caused by the strong storms last Wednesday evening. Red Cross workers are providing meals, a place to cool off, and safe place to sleep. The shelter is located at 322 Spring Hill Drive A 800, Spring, TX 77386.
Anyone evacuating to a Red Cross shelter should bring essential items for each member of the family:
• Prescriptions and emergency medications
• Foods that meet unusual dietary requirements
• Identification and important personal documents
• Extra clothing, pillows, blankets, hygiene supplies and other comfort items
• Supplies needed for children and infants, such as diapers, formula, and toys
• Special items for family members who are elderly or disabled
• Chargers for any electronic devices you bring with you
• Books, games and other ways to entertain your family and yourself
