THE WOODLANDS, TX – Joni B’s Events of The Woodlands was thrilled to receive the establishment of Joni Barker Day in the city of Houston.

On June 27 at a ceremony at Houston City Hall, Joni Barker received a proclamation from the Houston City Council in recognition of her work, efforts, and philanthropy in The Woodlands and the Greater Houston area. Joni B’s has worked with area wide charities, organizations, corporations, and clients to hold all manner of events in The Woodlands and elsewhere.

“As a longtime resident of The Woodlands, I was surprised and honored to be recognized for my efforts in The Woodlands and the Greater Houston area,” said Barker to Woodlands Online. “I have planned events and volunteered for numerous businesses and organizations in The Woodlands including CASA of Montgomery County, Hope Beyond Bridges, the Phil Barker Food Drive, and even helped plan the Woodlands Online Best of the Woodlands celebration in 2020. I am currently working with Love Fosters Hope – with whom I’ve been working for the past three years – to plan their yearly fundraising gala.

The proclamation was presented by Mayor Sylvester Turner and Councilmember David Robinson during the Houston City Council meeting. The proclamation ceremony was followed by a reception at the historic Backstreet Cafe in Houston, which is run by James Beard award winning chef Hugo Ortega.
