THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Blanton Advisors, LLC is excited to announce Barry Blanton of The Woodlands has been named by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as National Friends & Family Ambassador for Light The Night.

Light The Night is an annual fundraising campaign to find cures and provide access to treatments for blood cancer patients. As a National Ambassador, Blanton will champion and mentor Light The Night’s Friends & Family teams to accelerate the LLS goal of creating a world without blood cancers.

Blanton is a twenty-year follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma survivor and lost his father to leukemia. Learning that there was no cure for his cancer and just five years later that there were no additional treatment options to save his father motivated Blanton to get involved with LLS. Barry and his Light The Night team, “The Blanton Bunch”, have participated in Light The Night for 18 years, raising nearly half a million dollars during that time.

Cancer has also touched his family in many other ways. He lost his mother-in-law and aunt to cancer. Blanton’s mother, wife, sister, and brother-in-law are cancer survivors. He also has numerous friends who have both fought blood cancers and lost loved ones.

Blanton stated, “I am honored to serve as a National Ambassador and look forward to encouraging teams from coast to coast to join me in supporting Light The Night,” said Blanton, “I am a strong believer in the work that LLS is doing to fund life-saving research and my hope is to ignite a similar passion for this cause in others.”

This year, Light The Night Montgomery County will be held on November 5, 2023, at Town Green Park.
