WWII B-17 Monument to be unveiled in October ceremony

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission and the Commemorative Air Force Gulf Coast Wing will host a Memorial Ceremony and the Unveiling of the WWII B-17 Monument. The ceremony will take place at the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park in Conroe on October 8.

Each presentation honors the Veterans of WWII and the CAF crew, B-17, and P-63 planes that perished on November 12, 2022.

The vision of the Commission is to work diligently to provide a park, education center, and museum all in one location. The organization believes that preserving history, sharing the stories behind servicemen and women and First Responders, and honoring those great individuals is paramount to its mission.

The Southeast corner of Interstate 45 and TX-105 is home to something very special – the Veterans Memorial Park which was built to pay tribute and to recognize the sacrifice of the United States Veterans and their families, dependents and children of the United States Veterans who served and are now serving this country. The park is also home to the First Responders Flag and Memorial which honors those who sacrifice and protect the American people.

The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission pledges its dedication, commitment, and perseverance to the further development and improvements to the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park . The park is home to 6 Memorial galleries where Veterans, the general public, educators, families, and students can gather to learn about the experiences, tragedies, and triumphs of the men and women who are serving, or have served with the United States Military. With the great capacity and capability of The People of Montgomery County, The State of Texas, and The United States of America, will will succeed in this great undertaking.
