Wednesday, August 23
Cancer screenings can save your life. When cancer is detected early, it is easier to treat. Join Houston Memorial The Woodlands Hospital for a free in-person event and Q&A session with their experts as they discuss understanding cancer screenings and why they matter; the benefits and importance of early detection; how to reduce your cancer risk; and Genetic Counseling Options. This is a complimentary event. Please register to attend. Self parking is available at the main entrance of the hospital (closest to I-45 feeder road). Valet closes at 6:00 p.m. Do NOT use valet parking for this event.

Thursday, August 24
We’re so excited for Friday Night Lights that we’ll be live streaming them on Thursday night! Tonight the local high school football scene kicks off and Woodlands Online will be there. Show up in person or catch us online as The Grand Oaks High School varsity football team welcomes Aldine Nimitz High School in a rematch to open the 2023-2024 season. The Grizzlies will be led by 1st-year head coach and newly appointed Campus Athletic Director Shaun McDowell, who most recently coached at Foster High School for a decade. McDowell enters his 21st year of teaching and coaching and must turn around the Grand Oaks football program. McDowell will look to replicate the same success from a year ago in his first game at the helm for the Grizzlies.

Dosey Doe - The Big Barn is hosting a true American legend. Grand Ol’ Opry member and multiple award-winner Lorrie Morgan will take the stage for a dinner / live music show. Between her personal pedigree in a family of musicians to a turbulent personal life over the decades, Lorrie has lots to draw upon in her songwriting and emotive singing. Saturday, August 26
The Walk, the annual gala benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands and presented by Richie’s Specialty Pharmacy, will be held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 6 p.m. to midnight. Chaired by Carrie Greenberg and Kristen Byrnes, all event proceeds will fund programs offered through Interfaith, designed to assist South Montgomery County neighbors in need. The Walk is creatively led by renowned Houston fashion show producer, Lenny Matuszewski, Jr., the event includes a New York-style runway fashion show featuring designs from Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as a luxury bid board and live auction. The Walk is adding an exciting new element this year as well: a Best Dressed Competition for attendees, where one dollar equals one vote. The eight Community Champions will star in the Runway Finale, leading guests into a one-of-a-kind After Party.

Sunday, August 27
Strap yourselves in and rocket over to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion tonight. The space-age occasion? One of the top tribute bands in the world, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, will be playing PF’s seminal album Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety, live and just for you! Sharing the stage with them is another tribute band who might get you on the escalator to heaven, Led Zeppelin 2. You’ll want to lay down a few bucks to get the best seats in the house (especially as they’re covered seats in this sweltering heat). Be sure you know all about the parking situation and the Pavilion’s firm bag-and-baggage rules!
