Local guard team invites you to help raise funds with Zombie Run

THE WOODLANDS, TX – A local guard team of young ladies based in The Woodlands and Conroe is prepping for an all-October fundraising event: the inaugural Warrior Guard Zombie Run. This event will take place every weekend in October at Texas Legends Paintball, located at 11099 Ponderosa Timbers Dr. in Conroe.

“We have teamed up with Texas Legends Paintball for our first local Zombie Run, where we will have five paintball fields filled with zombies,” said Misty Dempsey, director and coach for Warrior Guard. “Players will have to clear each contamination zone of zombies before moving through. Careful though, it takes five hits to down a zombie and they regenerate after ten seconds.”

Participants will use airsoft guns and gellyballs, which are safe for ages five and older. Groups of 10 will be guided through these areas with an expert in zombie protection and elimination. Your guided trip through the infected zones should take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your skills with a zombie gellyblaster and ultimately whether or not you survive all five infected zones. There will also be photo opportunities and a photo booth area, so dressing for the apocalypse and bringing your camera phone is encouraged. There will also be a raffle each night. The event will take place Oct. 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, and 28-29, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. each evening.

Beyond a frightfully funny community event, the Zombie Run is also a fundraiser for Warrior Guard, and a portion of the sales will go to the tean’s equipment expenses, travel and competition fees. Warrior Guard is an all homeschool based winter guard competition team, with cadets (ages 10-11) and the senior comp team (ages 12-17).
