THE WOODLANDS, TX – It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally out of the heat bubble and won’t see any triple-digit temperatures for several more months now.

Say goodbye to summer heat, hello to autumn storms

Our bright, relatively cool Monday is already winding down, with winds kicking in to sooth the earlier high of 84. As the sun sets, however, clouds will start to roll in, and definitely with a purpose. The grey and white puffs will stick around day and night ay 100 percent coverage until at least Wednesday night. Our low tonight under these blanketed skies will drop into the low 60s.

Tuesday will make it hard to find the sun behind the clouds, but we can enjoy some very mild humidity so that the high of 83 will have a bare minimal heat index adding to it. There are some chances of some afternoon rains, and those chances increase significantly as day evolves into night.

Our overnight Tuesday-Wednesday low will be 67, but the thermometer will barely move up another 10 degrees for Wednesday’s high. Moderate winds will help push the morning rain showers into your faces but fortunately as the day progresses the winds and rain and even cloud cover will start to abate as one.

Thursday and Friday will see a return to brighter and drier weather, with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s both days under partly cloudy skies. Even the winds will settle down for the period.

All in all, you can expect some perfectly seasonal weather this week – not too warm, not too cool, not too wet, and certainly not too sere. Take advantage of the outdoorsy milieu and enjoy the parks, trails, and other in-the-open areas. And keep your jackets on standby, because it looks like the mercury may take a dive starting this weekend…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
