THE WOODLANDS, TX – The sweltering heat and humidity of the summer is already a fading memory, only to be recalled right around the time our latest electric bills are opened. This week, you, your air conditioner, and your sweat glands can all take a breather.

Bright and cool all week… autumn rocks!

Amazingly, our high that will hit later in the afternoon will stay in the 60s – 69 to be precise – with no heat index to add to it. Our gusty day will peak around the same time, then the winds will still as the mercury plunges down through the 60s and 50s to settle for an overnight low in the – brace yourself – mid 40s. There won’t be a cloud in the sky all afternoon and night to obscure your view if you’re into stargazing.

Tuesday will be slightly warmer, thanks to a dropping pressure system and a rising dew point, but it won’t get over 76 for the high, still well within jacket weather. The sky will remain blazingly sunny, and there won’t be any of the Monday breezes to cool the air, so make sure you wear some sunscreen while outdoors. As Tuesday becomes Wednesday, we’ll experience a low temp of 51.

Humpday Wednesday will continue the slight warming trend, seeing the temps throughout the morning and afternoon reach all the way up to 82 (but still at least 20 degrees cooler than just a couple of weeks ago), and the moderate winds might just bring along a few clouds with them. Again, while warmer than the preceding days, the overnight low of 60 will still be miles cooler than what we dealt with only recently.

The slight cloud coverage will continue on Thursday, warming things up a little bit more. For the first time this week, the accompanying humidity might add a degree to the high of 85, but you’ll still be able to wear long sleeves with comfort. The low temperature that night will play nice and get down to 60 again.

For Friday, we’ll end with perfect TGIF weather and the promise of a decent weekend. The high will stretch all the way up to 88 – but that should be the last time the mercury hits that level for quite a while – with clear sunny skies and moderate winds. As you crawl into bed Friday night, you may want to grab an extra blank to get under as the low will get all the way down to 57.

As we head into the weekend, we can enjoy some mild, cloudy skies, but the long rance forecast might have some wet stuff in it…

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
