The Woodlands Township’s 3R Recycling Drive-thru offers free recycling for special items

The annual 3R Recycling Drive-Thru Event takes place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 9 a.m. to noon at The Woodlands High School parking lot. This event is for residents of The Woodlands only, and proof of residence will be required. No business items will be accepted.

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township invites residents to celebrate America Recycles Day by bringing select items for a free, one-day special collection at the 3R Recycling Drive-thru located at The Woodlands High School on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 9 a.m. to noon. This free event is an opportunity to recycle items that cannot be recycled in curbside carts.

"A cleaner, greener future starts with our residents,” said Chairman Dr. Ann K. Snyder. “I invite the community to this free recycling drive-through event, where you can recycle those 'hard-to-dispose-of' items. Let's transform our waste into a positive change for our environment and future generations."

Help by following these guidelines:
Bag or box like items together and place in your trunk or back seat. Volunteers will provide a full-service drive-thru, so please stay in your vehicle. No business items will be accepted.

Accepted Items:

  • Batteries - Alkaline AA, AAA, C, D and 9V only
  • Block Styrofoam?- No food containers or cups
  • Disposable Razors and packaging
  • Eyeglasses, sunglasses and cases
  • Light Bulbs - Incandescent, Compact Fluorescent (CFL) and LED only. Must be intact, not broken. No tube lights over 4 feet.
  • Oral Care Products?- Toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers
  • Plastic Bags and Film - Any plastic film that is clean, dry and stretches
  • Small Electronics - One file box or paper shopping bag per vehicle. Laptops, tablets, cellphones and cords only. No TVs or monitors. Proof of Woodlands address (Driver’s License or utility bill) is required.
  • Snack and Drink Pouches - Any brand that comes with a straw or lid
  • Textiles - Used clothing, shoes, linens, fabric scrap in any condition
  • Election Signs and Stakes - Separate stakes from the signs
  • Bikes in any condition - Bikes will be collected and refurbished in partnership with Bike The Woodlands Coalition and Recycled Cycles and then donated back to the community.
