THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The new PTSD film, “Lonesome Soldier,” is now in select theaters, but Veterans are being offered a Free Screening of up until Thursday for Veterans Day week. Film Producers Steve and Alana Monroe, are residents of Montgomery County, and are offering the gift to Veterans, especially those affected by PTSD issues as a result of their combat experiences.

The movie captures discussion of PTSD for Veterans who have never been treated as a result of the trauma they endured. In addition, the movie can serve as an affirmation for Veterans who have received treatment, and now are living productive lives with their family and friends.

The film tells the true story of Army Specialist, Jackson Harlow, who, as a member of the National Guard was deployed to Iraq, and came home fighting a 'Demon' that only a few people can see. PTSD. Many Veterans can relate to the chaos of combat operations, and some may even be afraid to go for fear of reopening wounds long since healed.

It would be best to go to see the movie, since whatever feelings Veterans harbor, or issues that have been addressed previously. They still need to be talked about, because talking is healing. The journey has to start sometime. So why not now?
