THE WOODLANDS, TX – With all Montgomery County and relevant Harris County precincts reporting, the votes have been tallied for the Joint Election for The Woodlands area. This is a list of unofficial results; the votes are not made official until they are certified by the Texas Election Commission.

Summary

The 14 propositions for amendments to the Texas Constitution all passed except for Propositions 10 (Tax Exemption on Medical Equipment and Inventory) and 13 (Increase Mandatory Retirement Age for State Judges).

Three of the four Conroe Independent School Board Bond propositions passed; the only one defeated was Proposition D, which would have built a new 50-meter outdoor pool with expansions and upgrades to the current natatorium.

For The Woodlands Township Board of Directors, Position 5 incumbent Shelley Sekula-Gibbs maintained her seat in a narrow victory over challenger Tricia Danto (230 votes separated the 50.73% / 49.27% race). Position 6 stayed in the hands of Ann Snyder, who handily beat her opponent Tom Chumbley with nearly 84 percent of the vote. And Cindy Heiser managed to avoid a runoff election against challengers Tom Chumbley and Ann Perry with a 54.18% vote victory.
