THE WOODLANDS, TX – Early voting ended on Halloween, which means that your only chance to vote in this current election is Tuesday, November 4. The rules are a tad stricter on Election Day.

First off, you can only vote at your assigned precinct polling location. With 113 precincts in Montgomery County, there are dozens of polling places, and you don’t want to waste your valuable Tuesday hours driving around lost. So, right off the bat, you’ll need to find your precinct; the best resource for that locally is the Montgomery County Elections Commission website, elections.mctx.org.

Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. To be more precise, anyone standing in line at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote. All voters are required to show the proper identification. If you’re opting to do a last-minute mail-in ballot, it must be postmarked by 7 p.m. on Election Day and received by 5 p.m. the day after Election Day.

For most Woodlanders, the primary issues on the ballot are who will be the Position 6 Director on the Township Board – positions 5 and 7, Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs and Cindy Heiser, respectively, are unopposed – and 17 proposed state constitutional amendments. Several of these amendments or propositions are potentially life-altering, so it’s in your best interest to read about them and vote on them.

Unfortunately, only 34,350 Montgomery County residents voted early, only about seven percent of the total number of registered voters, more than 465,000. Woodlands Online encourages you to take some time on Tuesday and vote. The next opportunity will be for the upcoming ‘midterm elections’ in March of next year.

You can view all 17 proposed constitutional amendments at https://ballotpedia.org/Texas_2025_ballot_measures.

Stay tuned to Woodlands Online for Election Night coverage and throughout the election season.
