THE WOODLANDS, TX – Rotary Club of The Woodlands, the local chapter of Rotary International, a service organization with more than 1.4 million members worldwide and hundreds locally, honored Woodlands area veterans in a recent luncheon at The Woodlands Country Club.

Miguel Lopez, president of the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, was keynote speaker

Over a catered meal, club president Kay Boehm-Fannin, introduced Randy Johnson, CEO of Montgomery County Hospital District, who gave the invocation and led the pledges. Rob Eissler, a Rotarian and former State Representative, served as master of ceremonies. After talking about the history of famed WWII hero Doris Miller, Eissler introduced keynote speaker Miguel Lopez, a veteran and president of the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

After the keynote, Eissler honored all of the veterans in the room, calling them to stand next to him in groups of service, as they accepted accolades and gift bags to the tunes of their branch’s respective anthems and slides of their military lives were shown.

The ceremony concluded after Amy Harrison, the director of constituent services for Congressman Dan Crenshaw’s office, delivered a congressional proclamation honoring Rotary Club of The Woodlands and the veterans it had honored.
