The Woodlands Township holds special meeting on November 17, 2023, to canvass election

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held a Special Board of Directors Meeting to canvass the 2023 Township election at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at The Woodlands Township, 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, The Woodlands, Texas 77381.

The Township Board of Directors adopted an order canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the 2023 Directors election for positions 5, 6 and 7, based on the final canvass reports from both Harris County and Montgomery County election offices. The election was held within The Woodlands Township on November 7, 2023.

The following have been elected to serve as Directors of The Woodlands Township until November 2025:

• Shelley Sekula-Gibbs – Position 5
• Ann K. Snyder – Position 6
• Cindy Heiser – Position 7

Each office carries a two-year term, and all three positions are elected at large by voters in The Woodlands Township in both Harris and Montgomery Counties. Per the Township’s Enabling Legislation, a Director is not entitled to compensation for service on the Board.

In addition to canvassing the November 2023 election, the Board of Directors received a briefing on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors officer nomination process on the Consent Agenda.

A closed Executive Session was held to discuss matters as identified with the Texas Government Code, and upon reconvening, the Board of Directors unanimously approved an Interlocal Agreement with Montgomery County related to a Texas Events Trust Fund.
