The Woodlands Charities spreads joy – and donations – to nine local nonprofits

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Every autumn, The Woodlands Charities, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving Montgomery County, holds its ‘Into the Woods’ fundraising gala. Proceeds from the fundraising event are later distributed to various local nonprofits in need of financial support.

Recently, representatives of The Woodlands Charities, led by board president Amy Milstead, gathered with leaders of nine different nonprofits in a check presentation ceremony. The receiving organizations and the amounts of the donations they were given were:

  • YES to YOUTH – $9,115.31
  • Mosaics of Mercy – $8,414.13
  • Rotary of The Woodlands – $8,414.13
  • Special Angels of The Woodlands – $7,365.36
  • YMCA of The Woodlands – $5,609.42
  • Angel Reach – $6,310.60
  • All Ears! – $4,207.06
  • Habitat for Humanity – $600.00
  • New Danville – $450.00
  • Dancing Thru Life – $150.00

for a total of $49,433.01.

The Woodlands Charities, Inc. was founded by Nina Marino, Amy Milstead, and James Stilwell. These community leaders pooled their vast experience to form an organization that hosts fundraisers for and brings awareness to selected Montgomery County charities. All funds raised are donated directly to the annual charities that have been selected.
