Acorn Manor gets a Christmas visit from Santa AND Elvis
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The residents at Acorn Manor – a Woodlands-based, pet-friendly senior living home – were given a special treat on Christmas Eve when they received a visit from not one but two magical figures.
First, the seniors were treated to a mini-concert by the spirit of Young Elvis, portrayed by local musician/actor Ian Montez. As he wrapped up the song set with the fan favorite I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You, when what to their wondering eyes should appear but St. Nick himself.
Santa – who traveled under the assumed name Johnny Barton – handed out presents as Elvis regaled the elders who had a good chance of actually having seen him perform in real life years ago. At the end of the visit, Santa and Elvis led the residents and staff in a stirring rendition of Silent Night.
“I’m so happy that Santa and Elvis were able to both come back after their appearance last year,” said Priyanka Johri, who runs Acorn Manor, along with Woodlands Eco Realty and Pure Mutts Animal Sanctuary. “Hopefully next year we can get three magical figures to show up.”
